
Helena Sims
Helena brings over 20 years of national, regional and global experience in marine conservation, ocean governance, and sustainable finance. She played a key role in the development and adoption of the Seychelles Marine Spatial Plan to achieve the 30% marine protection goal, and was directly involved in the finalisation of the debt for adaptation swap and operationalisation of SeyCCAT.
With a strong background in governance, institutional development and conservation finance, Helena has worked extensively with government, civil society, and international partners to align environmental priorities with sustainable funding mechanisms.
As CEO, Helena focuses on strengthening SeyCCAT’s strategic impact, enhancing transparent and effective grant-making, and ensuring the Trust continues to support Seychelles’ biodiversity, climate resilience and sustainable development goals.
