Assessment of the artisanal and semi-industrial shark fishery

Seychelles Conservation and Climate Change Adaptation Trust (SeyCCAT.org) is an independent trust fund that empowers sustainable development of Seychelles’ blue economy by supporting impactful projects that address climate change and marine conservation challenges in the country. SeyCCAT grants are competitively awarded to public, private, and non-profit applicants based in the Seychelles.
SeyCCAT, seeks to recruit a consultant to undertake an intensive 12-month survey of the artisanal and semi-industrial shark fishery on the island of Mahé. The overall objectives of this consultancy are to (i) identify species make-up, seasonality and catch demography of the artisanal and semi-industrial shark catch, (ii) assess trends in changes in the nature of the artisanal and semi-industrial shark catch and, (iii) highlight key issues for priority action and provide strategic reference points for adaptive management.
